CALEDONIA — William “Billy” Bart Lawrence, 85, died Dec. 13, 2025, at Windsor Place. Visitation will be from 2-3 p.m. Friday, at Memorial Funeral Home. Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory of Columbus is in charge of arrangements. 

Mr. Lawrence was born July 13, 1940, in Columbus, to the late Ozzie James and Mildred Thompson Lawrence. He was a graduate of Caledonia High School and was a veteran of the United States Army. He was formerly employed at Southern Airways and Beneke Corporation and served as mayor of Caledonia. He was a member of Flint Hill Church. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jim Lawrence. 

He is survived by his wife, Rissa Thomasson Lawrence; son, William Bart Larence Jr. of Columbus; step-daughter, Michelle Cox of Caledonia; and one grandchild.
