MACON — Wayne Stewart Jr., 59, died Dec. 15, 2025. 

Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, at Concord Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Cockrell Funeral Home of Macon is in charge of arrangements. 

Mr. Stewart was born May 11, 1966, in Covington, Louisiana, to Rita Lindey Stewart and the late Wayne Stewart Sr. He was a graduate of Mississippi State University and was formerly employed as owner and operator of a catfish seining business. 

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Gabe Stewart. 

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his son, Austin Stewart; daughter, Anna Lea Stewart Burks; brother, Jeb Lindley; and three grandchildren.
