Virginia Peoples

COLUMBUS — Virginia “Feen” Jackson Peoples, 92, died Aug. 7, 2025, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, at Stephen Chapel M.B. Church, with the Rev. Joe Lee Peoples officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery. Visitation is from 2-6 p.m. Friday at Carter’s Funeral Services. Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Peoples was born Dec. 16, 1932, in Crawford, to the late Eddie Peoples and Mattie T. Jackson. She was a member of the Traveling Five Juniors and Seniors and Stephen Chapel M.B. Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her children, Tommy Lee Rogers, Freddie Hartley, Willie Earl, Mattie Pearl and Dorothy Jackson; and brother, Eddie Rogers.
She is survived by her children, Sam Baptist Jr. of Chicago, Illinois, Annie Richardson, Betty Jackson Brooks, Hattie Jackson Curry, Pearlie Leach and Jacqueline Jackson, all of Columbus; 20 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Quincy Harris, Quentin Jackson, Kelvin Jackson, Jaylyn Jackson, Chris Jackson, Jarvis Jackson, Tyron Blevins and Cleve Neal.
