Vester Horace Gilliam, 79, of Columbus, MS, passed away Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at his residence.

A Memorial Service will be announced at a later date. Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS entrusted with all arrangements.

Mr. Gilliam was born January 20, 1946, in Kennedy, Alabama, to Cecil Gilliam and Ruby Godfrey Gilliam. He was a member of Beersheba Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Columbus, MS. He worked many years as a diesel mechanic. Mr. Gilliam was a Veteran of the United States Navy and served during the Vietnam War as a Navy CB.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Gilliam was preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Gilliam East.

Mr. Gilliam is survived by his wife, Harriet Riley Gilliam; son, Alex (DeeDee) Gilliam; and grandchild, Brayden East.
