COLUMBUS — Tyrone Hairston, 62, died July 8, 2025, at his residence. 

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, at Carter’s Funeral Services, with the Rev. Dedrick Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at New Zion M.B. Church cemetery in Steens. Visitation will be from 2-5 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home. Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus is in charge of arrangements. 

Mr. Hairston was born April 24, 1963, in Columbus, to the late Clyde Hairston and Ruby L. Hairston. He attended Columbus City Schools and was formerly employed as a prep cook at Kountry Kitchen. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Alfred Bonner, Frank Johnson and Mack Arthur Evans. 

He is survived by his siblings, Jerome Hairston, Shelia Johnson Harris, Ezell Johnson, Linda Walker, Dione Johnson, Rhonda Owens, Rodney Massey, Debra Thompson, Loretta Davis, Annetta Davis, Frieda Brown and Marilyn Hairston.
