MILLPORT, Ala. — Troy Sturdivant, 101, died May 25, 2025.

Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Holly Grove M.B. Church. Burial will follow at Holly Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Dowdle Funeral Home of Millport is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Sturdivant was born Jan 12, 1924, in Fernbank, to the late Jess Sturdivant and Louise Blylock Studivant. He attended Fernbank schools. He was formerly employed as a farmer and logger and with Airline Manufacturing in Columbus and the Town of Millport.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his children, Philip and Olene Bridges; siblings, Ollie V. Morton, Luberta Brock, Verdell Maddox, Robbie Ogden, Rosie Lee Prewitt, Roy Sturdivant, Burdett Sturdivant, Bradford Sturdivant and Sonny Boy Sturdivant; and one grandchild.

He is survived by his children, Coy Studivant, Roy Sturdivant and Michael Sturdivant, all of Columbus, Stanley Sturdivant, Annie Sturdivant, Shirley Sturdivant, Rhonda Sturdivant and Virginia Odom, all of Millport, Barbara Sturdivant of Racine, California, and Linda Sturdivant of Tuscaloosa; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
