WEST POINT — Taurus Demont Wofford, 49, died Feb. 25, 2026, at his residence in Mantee.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, at Bryan Union Hall, with the Rev. Gerard Valliant officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope Woodland Church Cemetery in Woodland. Visitation will be from 4-5 p.m. Saturday at Carter’s Mortuary Services Chapel. Carter’s Mortuary Services of West Point is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Wofford was born July 22, 1976, in Eupora, to Patsy Wofford Logan and the late Sam Thomas Kirby.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, La’Sonya Wofford; children, Jamrius Gates and Shataura Wofford; siblings, Kevin Eacholes, Antonyo Hunter, Roy King, Amy Barr, Shemeka Wofford, Shawanda Wofford, Shakedia Logan, Bobbie Boyd, Shynika Perry and Shay Perry; and one grandchild.
