COLUMBUS — Susie A. Thompson, 85, died Aug. 13, 2025, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle. 

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Southside M.B. Church, with Johnny Durrah. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Friday, at Carter’s Funeral Services. Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus is in charge of arrangements. 

Mrs. Thompson was born April 2, 1940, in Noxubee County, to the late McCune Davis and Kellie Taylor Crouch. She was formerly employed as a custodian with the Columbus Municipal School District and was a member of United Faith Interdenominational Church. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her children, Johnny Thompson, Jimmy Alexander, Betty Price, Doris Kelley, Barbara Thompson and Deborah Thompson; and four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. 

She is survived by her children, Susie M. Thompson, Will Thompson, Carol Harris, Jean Ann Johnson, Kelly Thompson, Rita Thompson, Lonnell Thompson and Anthony Thompson; 40 grandchildren; 94 great-grandchildren; and 21 great-great-grandchildren.
