Scott Arnold McCormick, 58 of Columbus, MS, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2025, at his residence.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 6, 2025, from 1:00 – 2:00 PM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 PM with Bro. Steve Blaylock officiating and Lowndes Funeral Home directing.

Mr. McCormick was born March 1, 1967, in Hartford, CT, to Nelda Langston McCormick and the late Patrick McCormick. He worked as a cosmologist and owned several shops in the 1980’s and was currently employed at International Paper.

In addition to his mother, Mr. McCormick is survived by his wife, Sheila Vernon McCormick; son, Holden McCormick; step-son, John Tyler Helton; step-daughter, Callie Helton; and his brother, Keith (Suzanne) McCormick.
