William Jerry “Sonny” Shelton, age 85, died Thursday, August 14, 2025, at Baptist Memorial Hospital Columbus.

A visitation will be held Sunday, August 17, 2025, at 3:00 PM at First Baptist Church 3000 Bluecutt Road Columbus, MS, 39705, followed by a memorial service, with Rev. Bobby Sanderson officiating.

Mr. Shelton was born on October 5, 1939, in Columbus, to the late William Young Shelton and Ona Lathel Coleman Shelton. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Columbus and the retired owner/ operator of Shelton’s Cleaners.

In addition to this parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, William Jerry Shelton, Jr. and Jeffrey Wayne Shelton

Survivors include his daughter, Susan Foster; sister, Sarah Ann Shook; brother, David Shelton; and numerous grandchildren.
