Shirley D. Netherland, 81, of Columbus, formerly of Yazoo City died at Baptist Hospital- Columbus Thursday December 15, 2016. She was a secretary for the Mississippi Department of Transportation, District 3 Office in Yazoo City, former co-owner of Gateway Broadcasting Co (WJNS – WYAZ radio stations) also in Yazoo City, and a member of Woodland Baptist Church in Columbus. Survivors are her daughter Dale N. (James) Hall of Columbus, grandson; Michael (Leigh Ann) Nabors of Calendonia, MS, graanddaughters; Aimee (Eric) Yarbrough of Columbus, & Whitney (Joseph) Hurd Pensacola, FL, great grandchildren; Anna Nabors, Hunter Yarbrough, Ava Nabors, Calen Yarbrough, Hayden Joel Hurd, & Conner Hurd, brother’ Phillip (louise) Dixon of Benton, MS,sister; Vivian Kramer of Brandon, MS, sisters-in-law Rita Dixon of Yazoo City, & Frances Dixon of Benton. Services will be Monday December 19 at Hill Crest Baptist Church, Bus Station Road,Yazoo City. Visitation will begin at 11:00 A.M. Until the 1:00 P.M. Service. Rev. Jeff Dixon & Rev Jay Trammell will officiate. Internment will follow in Scotland Cemetery on Scotland Road in Yazoo County Pallbearers are; Michael Nabors, Larry Kramer, Hunter Kramer, Crowell Armstrong, Eric Yarbrough, & Steve Dixon.
