SHUQUALAK — Shilby Jean Lewis, 74, died Feb. 10, 2026, at her residence.

Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, at New Jerusalem Church, with Leroy Horne Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at Slaughter Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Kimberly Lewis Professional Memorial Services of Shuqualak is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Lewis was born June 15, 1951, in Kemper County, to the late John Alex Turner and Eula Mae McCray Turner. She was formerly employed as an educator with the Noxubee County School District of Macon and was a member of New Jerusalem Apostolic Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Willie Lee Turner, Velma Cannon, John L. Turner, Ozell Turner and Clint Turner.

She is survived by her husband, John Wallace Lewis; children, Felischa Lewis, Kimberly Lewis and Andrew Lewis, all of Shuqualak, Timothy Lewis of Columbus, and Freddie Lewis of West Point; siblings, Johnnie Earl Turner of Gholson, McKinely Turner of Macon, Tommy Turner of Columbus, Lucille Hickman of Shuqualak, and Sylvia Jackson of Hampton, Ohio; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
