COLUMBUS — Sheril M. Walker Rickey Rice, 61, died Oct. 24, 2025, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle.  

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, at United Christian Baptist Church, with James Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow at Sturdivant Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Friday, at Carter’s Funeral services. Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus is in charge of arrangements. 

Mrs. Rice was born Jun 4, 1964, in Columbus, to Raymond Capers and the late Emma Lou Walker Troupe. She was a graduate of Caldwell High School and Mississippi State University. She was a veteran of the United States Army Reserve and was formerly employed at PACCAR. 

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her sister, Linda Walker. 

In addition to her father, she is survived by her children, Randy Johnson, Brittany Walker-O’Neal, Leandrae Richey and Jordan Miller; sibling, Yolanda Walker, Dexter Walker; Yolanda Fadonn Capers, Sonya McDougal, Vincent Lamar Capers and Dereck Leo Capers. 

Pallbearers will be Herman Troop, Thaddus Wilkins, Randy Johnson, Leandrae Richey, Towonn Troop, Dexter Walker, Jordan Miller and Shawn Stallings Jr.
