Sharon Denise Leighton, age 68, died Monday December 20, 2021, at Baptist Memorial Hospital, Columbus.

A memorial service will be held Sunday December 26, 2021, at 2:00 PM at the home of her son 7093 Wolfe Road Columbus, MS 39705.

Sharon was born on January 9, 1953, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to the late William Lee Petters and Joyce Essary Petters. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her children, Jennifer Szakel, of Columbus, MS, Michael Lobb, of Tupelo, MS and Lance Szakel, (Heather), of Columbus, MS; brother, Darrell Wayne Petters, of Amory, MS; sisters, Kathy Lynn Cosby, of Columbus, MS and Connie Velera Dover, MIlton, FL; grandchildren, Shawn Ferrell, Donavan McCranie, Ashton McCranie, Emalyn Szakel, Kris and Laila Smith.
