DECATUR, Ga. — Selma Leonard Lash, 81, died Jan. 3, 2026. 

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, at St. James United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Dwight Prowell officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-5 p.m. Friday, at Hairston and Hairston Funeral Home. Hairston and Hairston Funeral Home of Columbus is in charge of arrangements. 

Mrs. Lash was born May 9, 1944, in Starkville, to the late Joseph and Tenolia Leonard. She was formerly employed as an educator and school counselor. She was a member of St. James United Methodist Church. 

She is survived by her sister, Katherine Johnson.
