JACKSON, Tenn. — The Rev. Savannah Will Jones, 93, died Aug. 10, 2025, in Jackson, Tennessee.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, at New Trinity-Mt. Carmel C.M.E. Church in Columbus, with the Rev. Dr.. Litany Lineberry officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Lee-Sykes Funeral Home of Columbus is in charge of arrangements.

The Rev. Jones was born Aug. 20, 1931, in Crawford, to the late Kizzy Gray and Ozzie Barnett. She was formerly employed at United Technology and served as pastor of New Trinity-Mt. Carmel C.M.E. Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Esther Bridgeman and Mattie Rogers.

She is survived by her husband, David E. Jones; children, Darryl W. Barham “DeBerry” Samuels, David E. Jones Jr., Daniel Corey Jones, Gwendolyn Jones Young, Shala and Cherell “Tootie” Latham; 13 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Darryl W. Samuels, David E. Jones, Daniel Corey Jones, Nakia Rumph, Franchot Thompson and Arthur Harris.
