MACON — Ruthie Dell Porter, 74, died Oct. 28, 2025, at her residence.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Christian Hill M.B. church in Brooksville. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation is from 1-5 p.m. Friday at Lee-Sykes Funeral Home. Lee-Sykes Funeral Home of Macon is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Porter was born Nov. 27, 1950, in Noxubee County, to Curtis Johnson and Marie Walker. She was formerly employed at Sanders & Plumbers and was a member of Christian Hill M.B. Church.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Rosie Marie Henley; and brothers, Gerald Walker Bell, John Lee Walker, Ruffus B. Walker and Lewis Taylor.
She is survived by her sons, Earlie Henley Jr., Andrew Henley Sr., Rony Henley, Frederick Porter, all of Brooksville; sisters, Bernice haynes of Flint, Michigan, Mary Francis Ballot, Jackie Gillepsie, Wanda Harris, of St. Louise, Missouri,Fannie Davvis of Chicago, Illinois, Ruth Newsom of Glendale, Arizona, Betty Mattox, Sandra Johnosn, both of Columbus; brothers, James Anderson of Atlanta, Georgia, Malcolm Johsno, Norris G. Johnson, both of St. Louis, N.C. Johnson and Emmitt Johnson, both of Columbus; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Larry Barnett, Brandon Bell, Quinton Brandon, Gary Brooks, Don Brown, Cory Cunningham, Ladarvian Cunningham, James Lewis and Willie Rice Jr.
