MILLPORT, Ala. — Ruth McReynolds, 97, died Sept. 29, 2024, at Generations of Vernon. 

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, at Chandler Funeral Home, with Jammie Turner officiating. Burial will follow at Shiloh Methodist Cemetery in Hightogy Community. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Chandler Funeral Home of Vernon, Alabama, is in charge of arrangements. 

Mrs. McReynolds was born Jan. 20, 1927, in Lamar County, Alabama, to the late Lilly Harrison Godfrey. She was formerly employed at the cutting table at a garment plant. 

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her sons, Thomas McReynolds and David McReynolds; brother, Charles Godfrey; and one grandchild. 

She is survived by one grandchild; and four great-grandchildren.
