COLUMBUS — Rudy Cleon Lamaze Ervin, 54, died June 18, 2025, at his residence.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, at Charity Full Gospel Baptist church, with Charles Fisher officiating. Burial will follow at Strawbridge Cemetery in Ethelsville, Alabama. Visitation is from 1-5 p.m. Thursday at Carter’s Funeral Services. Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Ervin was born Aug. 7, 1970, in Carrollton, to the late Wilson Ervin and Rose Mae Ervin. He was a graduate of Pickens County High School and was formerly employed as a truck driver with Peco Foods and Bigbee Trucking.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Shirria Ervin, Jackie Ervin and Roosevelt “Bo” Ervin.
He is survived by his wife, Evon Ervin of Columbus; son, Brandon Cattledge; stepchildren, Monika Wilkins, Tremarcus Williams and Lakeisha Williams; siblings, Mark Ervin, Anthony Ervin, Jerry Ervin, Jason Ervin, Terris Ervin, Marcus Ervin, Carolyn Ervin, Catherine Sanders and Helen Coleman; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Chad Washington, Chris Chandler, Kendrick Stewart, Edward Lee, Willie Guyton, Johnny Boykin and Tim Frierson.
