TUPELO —Ruby Dean McCarty, 75, died Oct. 5, 2025, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. 

Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Wednesday, at Sherman Baptist Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Otts Funeral Home of Sulligent, Alabama, was in charge of arrangements. 

Mrs. McCarty was born July 1, 1950, in Sulligent, to the late Earnest Lucas and Dolly Brown. She was a graduate of Sulligent High School and was formerly employed at Reltoc and Barclay Furniture. She was a member of Sherman Baptist Church. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul “David’ McCarty. 

She is survived by her sons, Brian McCarty and Jason McCarty, both of Tupelo; brother, Wade Lucas of Fayette, Alabama; sister, Ernestine McCarty of Tupelo; and four grandchildren.
