COLUMBUS — Roy Edward Wright, 90, died Dec. 23, 2025, at The Windsor Place. 

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, at Lowndes Funeral Home, with Kenny Gardner officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Lowndes Funeral Home of Columbus is in charge of arrangements. 

Mr. Wright was born Jan. 22, 1935, in Fayette, Alabama, to the late Jonas Wright and Laura Walden Wright. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Wright; sister, Jean Smith; and brothers, Darrell Wright, Lyde Wright, Dale Wright and Billy Wright. 

He is survived by his son, Joel Wright; daughters, Sharon Evans and Frances Cravey; sister, Karen Little; brothers, Byron Wright and Alton Wright; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
