CRAWFORD — Roy N. “Charlie” Stewart Sr., 62, died Nov. 3, 2014, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle. Services are noon Saturday at Charity Mission Full Gospel Baptist Church with Bobby L. McCarter Sr officiating. Burial will follow at Turner Hairston Cemetery. Visitation is today from 3-8 p.m. at Carter’s Funeral Service of Columbus. Mr. Stewart was born in Columbus on Mar. 9, 1952, to the late Joe Baldwin Sr. and Mary Stewart. He was a member of Charity Mission Full Gospel Baptist Church and was a member of the West Lowndes Parent’s Association. He was formerly employed with Johnston Tombigbee Furniture Company and Kyles Farming. In addition to her parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Stewart; and five siblings, Cleveland Baldwin, Eula Baldwin, Joe Baldwin Jr., Willie C. Baldwin and George Baldwin. He is survived by his children, Daphne Roby of Crawford and Roy Stewart Jr. of Columbus; three grandchildren; and siblings, Rickey Stewart, Rosie Williams and Shirley McGee, all of Crawford, Jimmy Hairston, Addie Clay and Lillie Jackson, all of Columbus, Margaret Williams and Louise Stewart, both of Philadelphia, Barbara Brooks, Nelson Peat and Ed Peat, all of Flint, Michigan, Daisy Balkins of Memphis, Tennessee, Odessa Carter of Chicago and William Baldwin of Cassapolis, Michigan. Pallbearers are Marty Smart, Maurice Jackson, Rickey Clay, J. C. Miller, Anniah Lewis and Demarco Stewart.
