NOXUBEE COUNTY — Rosetta “Mrs. Monk” McCoy Jones, 87, died Aug. 25, 2022, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle. 

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, at Christian Hill M.B, Church in Brooksville, with the Rev. Alphonso Bowen officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation is from 2-5 p.m. today, at Carter’s Funeral Services. Carter’s Funeral Services of Macon is in charge of arrangements. 

Mrs. Jone was born Oct. 4, 1934, in Noxubee County, to the late Charlie McCoy and Dilcy Ann Ivy. She was formerly employed with Gavin Headstart Noxubee County School District and was a member of Christian Hill M.B. Church. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richmond Jones; and son, Ezelle Jones. 

She is survived by her children, Christean Buckhalter, Ardean Moore, both of Macon and Richard Jones of Fort Ann, New York; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren. 

Pallbearers will be Albert Owens Jr., Contreze Owens, Lorenzo Owens, Alonzo Owens, Lawrence Wells and Earnest Wells.
