Ronald Leigh Williams, 78, of Maben, Mississippi, passed away on November 19, 2025, at home on his beloved farm.
A celebration of life service will take place on December 12, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Double Springs Baptist Church in Maben. Burial will follow at Lee Memorial Cemetery in Verona, Mississippi. MS.
Mr. Williams was born in Mishawaka, Indiana, on November 15, 1947, to the late William Lawrence Williams and Rex Howell Williams. Ron graduated from Carmel High School in Indiana in 1967 before attending Mississippi State University, receiving a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Education. He spent thirty-two years as a teacher, educating students at schools in Maben, Oak Hill, Houlka, and Columbus, before retiring from Lee Middle School in 2007. He also spent two years at Mississippi State University in the Department of Entomology (1983- 1985). After his retirement, Ron loved working on his farm and cherishing time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Ron is survived by his five children, Carron Bryant (Samuel), Cristen Dembrun (Matthew) of Alabama, Cary Harris (James), Candace Williams of California, and Leigh Williams (Colleen); his six grandchildren, Madilynn Bryant, Maddox Bryant, Vivien Dembrun, Harper Dembrun, Blake Harris and Brody Harris; his three siblings, Philip Williams (Karen), Mary Hay (Michael) and Paul Williams (Pauline); and his former wife, Carol Harris Williams, mother of his children.
Ron will be remembered for his dedication to helping others and his love for his family, including the many family pets over the years.
Given his love of animals, the family requests donations to Oktibbeha County Humane Society (https://ochsms.org/) in lieu of flowers.
Friends and family are invited to Double Springs Baptist Church on December 12, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. for the funeral service. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church.
