Roland Lamar Hill, 92, passed away on January 5, 2026. Born July 25, 1933, in Louisville, MS, to Hubbard and Pearl Hill, Roland served in the U.S. Army and later retired from Kerr-McGee at age 88. He was a devoted member of Fairview Baptist Church and a member of the Masons.

Roland enjoyed watching Ole Miss football, tending his garden, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of nearly 62 years, Marie Jeanette (Ward) Hill; his grandson, Andrew Hill, whom he loved dearly; and his siblings, Glenda Woodruff and Olyn Hill.

Survivors include his loving children, Dr. Douglas Hill (Gwen), Terri Davis (Greg Beach), and Sherri Watters (Jim); his precious grandchildren, Kyle Coleman (Kayla), Preston Davis, Alex Hill (Sara), Will Watters and Anna Watters; great-grandchildren, Jace Gillian, Braylee Brown, Addisyn Coleman, Briley Hill and Waylon Coleman; and siblings Fannie Merle Clark and Ralph Hill.

Arrangements are entrusted to Lowndes Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Butch Hill, Kyle Coleman, Preston Davis, Alex Hill, Will Watters and Jace Gillian.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alabama Teen Challenge, St. Jude, or Fairview Baptist Church.
