MACON — Robert “Bocone” McCoy Sr., 83, died at Noxubee General Hospital in Macon.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Belmont Baptist Church, with Admire Gandy officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-5 p.m. Friday, at Lee-Sykes Funeral Home. Lee-Sykes Funeral Home of Macon is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. McCoy was born Aug. 31, 1942, in Noxubee County, to the late Matt Lee Lowery and Garner Lee McCoy. He was formerly employed at Shuqualak Lumber Company and was a member of Belmont Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Willie, Eddie, Sammie, James E., J.C. and Willie C. McCoy; and sisters, Mary Jane Johnson, Ora Lee Ballard and Annie Shamily.
He is survived by his wife, Rosie Lee Dent; children, Shirley McCoy, Janice McCoy, Ruby Hopkins, Joyce McCoy, Gerry Dent, Robert McCoy and Sarah Bankhead, all of Macon, Ida Mae White of Columbus, Annie McCoy and Terry Dent, both of Aliceville, Alabama; step-children, Birdie Mae Allen of Chicago, Illinois, Brenda Dent of Aliceville, Rosie Marie Dent of Macon; and sisters, Mary Earl Clanton and Selma Lee Boykin, both of Macon.
Pallbearers will be Anthony McCoy, Robert McCoy III, Don McCoy, Jamarcus McCoy, Demarco McCoy and Elijah Pipin.
