COLUMBUS — Robert Freddie Lain, 80, died Aug. 28, 2025, at his residence. 

There will be no services at this time. Lowndes Funeral Home of Columbus is in charge of arrangements. 

Mr. Lain was born May 8, 1945, in Lovell, Wyoming, to the late Buck Elbert Lain and Linnie Paulk Lain. He was formerly employed as an oil consultant in the oilfield. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Robert “Bobby” Freddie Lain II; brother, Ronnie Lain; and one grandchild. 

He is survived by his wife, Amelia Lain; children, Christy Jo Andrews, Josephine Lain and Chirs Lain; siblings, Charlotte Lain, Donnie Lain and Kay Lin; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
