Robert Leonard Brantley, 78, of Columbus, MS, passed away Sunday, September 28, 2025, at his residence.
The visitation will be Tuesday, September 30, 2025, from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Lowndes Funeral Home. An additional visitation will be Wednesday, October 1, 2025 from 12:00 P.M. until 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home with Bro. Kenny Gardner officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens, Columbus, MS. Lowndes Funeral Home is entrusted with all arrangements.
Mr. Brantley was born April 4, 1947, in Valdosta, GA, to the late Dewey Brantley and Doris Evelyn Mullins. He was a United States Veteran after serving in the Army and Army National Guard. Mr. Brantley retired in 2020 after working as a truck driver for Monroe Tufline.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Brantley is preceded in death by his wife, Helen Joyce Brantley; and siblings, Naomi Sue Lanning, Mary Schaefer and Lee Brantley.
He is survived by his children, Richard (Gwen) Brantley and Monica Brantley (Jimmy) Nabors; honorary children, Tony and Jennifer Hannah; grandchildren, Lysa (Dakota) Sandlin, Brittney (Anthony) Corbell, Brandi (Jayce) Hardin, Brandon (Dakota) Nabors, Bailey Shepperd (Mike Haririe), Christopher (Taylor) Lannon; great-grandchildren, AnRylie Sandlin, Landry Crenshaw, Fischer Sandlin, Lola Rowdy Sandlin, Parker Kate Crenshaw, Brantley Hardin, Chandler Hardin, Brighton Corbell, Amaia Haririe, Miller Lannon and Remi Lannon; siblings, Dewey Brantley, Jr. and Susie Plummer; and brother- in-law, Curtis Lanning.
Pallbearers will be Mike Gibson, Kevin Stokes, Jason McCool, Mike Garrard, Paul Long, David Perry, Mark Stafford and Larry Stokes.
Honorary Pallbearers are Bruce Landrum, Philip Atkins, Chris Lovato, Cole Harrison, Dr. John King, King and Associates Cardiology and North MS Vascular Care.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Enhabit Hospice, Rachel Crowder, Dr. Bonetti, Dr. Rincon, Alyssa Gillis, and Ellie Scherrer for their compassion and excellent care.
