COLUMBUS —Rebecca Lowe Woods, 93, died Dec. 17, 2025, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. 

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Lee-Sykes Funeral Home, with Edmond McDavis officiating. Visitation will be from 1-5 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home. Lee-Sykes Funeral Home of Columbus is in charge of arrangements. 

Mrs. Woods was born Feb. 28, 1932, in Columbus, to the late Eddie T. Lowe and Vinie Barlow Lowe. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Darnell and Cleveland Woods; step-mother, Mattie Lowe; daughter, Mara Woods; sons, Eddie Woods, William Earl Darnell and James Earl Darnell; brothers, Willie T. Lowe, Willie Ed Lowe and N.C. Lowe; and sisters, Leatha May Salter, Nellie B. Richardson and Eddie Mae Banana. 

She is survived by her son, Charles C. Darnell; daughters, Shirley Hicks, Marie Hamilton, Mae Tate, Patricia Stinson and Elaine Guyton; and sister, Mildred Mack.
