Reanir Stokes

COLUMBUS — Reanir M. Butler Stokes, 74, died Feb. 10, 2026, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, at New Beginning Full Gospel Baptist Church, with Anthony Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-5 p.m. Monday, at Carter’s Funeral Services. Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Stokes was born April 6, 1951, in Columbus, to the late Williams Butler St. and Luereaner Harris Butler. She was a 1969 graduate of R.E. Hunt High School and attended Mississippi State University. She was formerly employed at Johnson Electric (United Technologies) and the Mississippi Department of Rehabilitation. She was a member of 6th Avenue M.B. Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Laura Mae Johnson.
She is survived by her children Deidre Duman and Derek Stokes, both of Columbus; siblings, Williams Butler Jr. of Hoover, Alabama, and Willie Mae Smith of Columbus; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be B.J. McKinley, Larry Lewis, Johnnie Smith, Booker T. Webber, John Barry and Vantee Summerville.
