COLUMBUS — Raymond Lee Griggs, 73, died June 2, 2022, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle. 

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, at St. Matthews M.B. Church, with Torrance Nash officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 2-6 p.m. today, at Carter’s Funeral Services. Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus is in charge of arrangements. 

Mr. Griggs was born July 24, 1948, in Paulette, to the late J.T. Perkins and Mary Ann Giggs Whitten. He was a graduate of R.E. Hunt High School and was a veteran of the United States Army. He was formerly employed as a furniture restorer and a member of St. Matthews M.B. Church. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Belinda Lowe. 

He is survived by his daughters, Quintrelle Griggs of Richardson, Texas and Quintelle Griggs of Plano, Texas; and brother, Andrew Whitten of Columbus; sisters, Lillie Griggs of Columbus, Mary Smith of Tallasee, Alabama and Earnestine Mobley of Columbus. 

Pallbearers will be Benito Nash, Jalen Hymes, Corley Whitten, Allex Morris, Derrick Carpenter, Phillip Burgin, Jabbar Hill and Rick Gray.
