COLUMBUS — Raymond D. Mullins, 77, died April 18, 2015, at his residence. Services are 2 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church with Dr. Shawn Parker officiating. A private family interment will immediately follow at Friendship Cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to the service at the church. Gunter & Peel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Mullins was born May 29, 1937, to the late Ted Vaughn and Maxie Gibson Mullins in Pound, Virginia. He was a graduate of Pound High School and Mississippi State University. He was formerly employed as an office supply sales representative in Columbus. He later owned and operated Woods & Water Sporting Goods Store. Mr. Mullins was a member of First Baptist Church and the Gatewood Sunday School Class. He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force. He is survived by his wife, Syble Mullins of Columbus; sons, Steve Mullins of Tallahassee, FL, Andy Mullins of Medina, OH, and Danny Mullins and his wife Mitzi of Columbus; brother, Gerald Mullins and his wife Judy of Phillburg, ME; sister, Aneta Bickford of Fayetteville, NC; 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Jack Larmour, Mike Noland, Earl Weeks, Thomas Southerland, Jim Keen, Mike Round, and Dave Taylor. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 829, Columbus, MS, 39703.
