CALEDONIA — Ray Chandler, 82, died June 28, 2025, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, at Lowndes Funeral Home, with Mike Smith and Joe Moseley officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Lowndes Funeral Home of Columbus is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Chandler was born Jan. 16, 1943, in Vernon, Alabama, to the late Clovis Hamilton Chandler and Hilda Hollis Chandler Hadaway. He was formerly employed as a truck driver for several companies, an independent owner and operator, and as owner of Chandler Refrigeration.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Hollis Chandler, Kawatha Koonce and Rebecca Chandler.

He is survived by his wife, Norma Jean Chandler; children, Mike Chandler, Linda Gresham and Cary Chandler; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
