Phillip McCarter

PHEBA — Phillip “Mr. Mac” McCarter, 71, died Sept. 9, 2025, at his residence.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, at Bethesda Baptist Church in Crawford, with the Rev. Raleigh Richter and Zane Parker officiating. Burial will follow at Bethesda Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Saturday at Calvert Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Sunday at the church. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. McCarter was born May 21, 1953, in Laurel, to the late Howard Grady and Kathryn Elizabeth Gray McCarter. He was formerly employed as a farmer, truck driver, mechanic, and a welding, truck driving and small engines instructor.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie R. McCarter of Pheba; children, Brandy Dean of Clinton, Kelly Harpole and Clayton G. McCarter, both of Pheba; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Clay McCarter, Gabe Harpole, Aaron Woodson, Thomas “T.C.” Trull, James Brand, Will Reid, Joe Tucker and Nathan Morris.
