CLEVELAND — Pete Hurt, 69, died July 11, 2026, in the Dominican Republic. 

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, at First Baptist Church in Horn Lake. Visitation will be 12:30-1:30 p.m. at the church. Lowndes Funeral Home and Crematory of Columbus is in charge of arrangements. 

Mr. Hurt was born in Cleveland, to the late Rev. and Mrs. James Hurt. He attended Mississippi College and was formally employed as a football coach. 

He is survived by his wife, Diana; son, Clint; and brothers, Al, Richard and Bill.
