Wiley Bryant “Pete” Cantrell, age 89, passed away Sunday, April 12, 2026, at his home in Caledonia.

Services will be held Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Marvin Fuller officiating; burial will follow at Furnace Hill Cemetery near Vernon, AL.

Mr. Cantrell was born in Sulligent, AL, to the late Morris Cantrell and Lizzie McClain Cantrell. At 16 years of age he started working at Grant Nursery which later became Lamar’s Nursery until he retired at age 62. Mr. Cantrell loved spending time planting flowers and maintaining his yard.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jo; his daughter, Carolyn; two sons, William and Johnny; and one granddaughter.

Survivors include his son, Charlie Cantrell; one brother, Lewis Cantrell; six grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
