WEST POINT — Patsy “Pat” Pettit, 84, died June 24, 2025, at her residence.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, at Calvert Funeral Home Chapel, with Chris Craven and James Towery officiating. Burial will follow at Chickasaw Memorial Garden Cemetery in Houston. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Pettit was born FEb. 26, 1941, in Mathiston, to the late John Henry and Maude Edna Breland Merideth. She was formerly employed as a teacher’s assistant with the West Point Public School District and was a member of West End Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon “Smokey” Pettit, and several siblings.

She is survived by her children, Syndy Andrews and David Pettit, both of West Point, five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jim Andrews, Tim Doss, Dylan Doss, Justin Hicks, Brian Griggs and Johnny Hancock.
