STURGIS — Otha Gray, 71, died July 20, 2025, at his residence.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, at Hairston and Hairston Funeral Homes Chapel, with the Rev. Jay Harris officiating. Burial will follow at New Light Cemetery. Visitation is from 1-5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Hairston and Hairston Funeral Homes of Starkville is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Gray was born May 3, 1954, in Starkville, to the late Claude Gray Sr. and Willie Dora Taylor Gray. He was a member of New Light Methodist Church and Liberty Hill.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Terry Wayne Gray and Claude Gray Jr.

He is survived by his siblings, Doris White Lamkin and Willie Jean Watt, both of Sturgis, Nan Mitchell of Atlanta, Georgia, Eucluck Gray, Dennis Yarbrough and Bobby Gray, all of Starkville, and Nelson Gray of Whitney, Texas.

Pallbearers will be Marquinn Griffin, Prentiss Watt, Freddie Davis III, Frederick White, Charles Gray, Walter Hawkins and Melvin Turnipseed.
