WEST POINT — Orson Roderic Shelton, 58, died Jan. 17, 2026, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle. 

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, at St. Paul M.B. Church in Starkville. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-5 p.m. Sunday, at Carter’s Mortuary Services. Carter’s Mortuary Services of West Point is in charge of arrangements. 

Mr. Shelton was born June 3, 1967, in Clay County, to the late Charlie “C.D” Shelton and Virgie Bennett Shelton. He was formerly employed as an assistant manager at CVS. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Charles D. Shelton.
