Orson Cook, Jr., 79, of Tupelo, MS, passed away Monday, July 21, 2025, at his residence.
Visitation will be Sunday, July 27, 2025, from 2:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. at Lowndes Funeral Home,
Columbus, MS. Funeral Service will follow Sunday, July 27, 2025, at 3:00 P.M. at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS, with Pastor Tom Lewis and Pastor Tommy Galloway officiating. Interment will be at Center Hill Baptist Church in Hamilton, MS.
Mr. Cook was born June 10, 1946, in Hamilton, MS, to the late Orson Spencer Cook and Katie Delmar Oliver. He was a Warehouse Manager for Columbus Wholesale Tire for many years. Mr. Cook was a member of Marion Cowboy Church in Hamilton, Alabama. He enjoyed mowing yards and riding ATVs. Mr. Cook was an avid Alabama fan and loved watching Alabama Football.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Cook is preceded in death by his children, Elonda Cook Pinson and David Cook; siblings, Ann (Eddie) Lockhart, Jesse (Karen) Jones, Willie (Elouise) Jones, Cecil Jones, Buck Jones, Howard Jones, O.C. “Mutt” (Lonnie) Jones, Johnny Jones, Ruby Jones and Orville Eugene Cook; and grandchildren, Austin Cook; and Zachary Cook.
Mr. Cook is survived by the mother of his children, Patricia Ann Taylor; children, Annette (Ricky) Kimbrell and Everett (Larissa) Cook; grandchildren, Katie Kimbrell (Jack Redus), PFC Wesley Cook, Kyle Cook, Lucas Cook, Adriana Cook and Eric Pinson; and special bonus family, Haley Hunt, Ava Sloan, Veronica (Rod) Lockridge and Rowyn, RJ and Roslyn Lockridge.
Pallbearers will be Everett Cook, PFC Wesley Cook, Kyle Cook, Lucas Cook, Kyle Downs, John Fowler and Tim Kimbrell.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Brad Crosswhite, Dr. Terry Penson, Dr. Julian Hill and Urology of Oxford.
