COLUMBUS — Nias Austin Jr., 92, died Oct. 19, 2025, in Columbus.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, at Bible Way Progressive Church, with Tommy Lee Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Faith Harvest Church Cemetery in Steens. Visitation is from 2-5 p.m. Friday at Lee-Sykes Funeral Home. Lee-Sykes Funeral Home of Columbus is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Austin was born March 22, 1933, in Columbus, to the late Nias Austin Sr. and Susie Lewis Austin. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was formerly employed as a salesman.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Steven Austin and Stanley Austin; and siblings, Sarah Jane Greenleaf, Mary Greensleaf, Aretha Pickle, Queen Stewart, Hattie Will Austin, Estella Lewis King, Edward Greenleaf, Austin Greenleaf, Robin Greelee, George O’Bean and Carl Austin.

He is survived by his wife, Addie B. Austin; children, Jennifer Conway, Joyce Davis, Bessie Allen, Pamela Summerville, Vickie Williams, Susie Montgomery, Gloria Street, Gail Harris, Tony Austin, Roger Joiner and Robert Austin; brother, James Greenleaf; 24 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
