WEST POINT — Nannie J. Bennett, 91 died Dec. 17, 2025. 

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Mt. Hermom M.B. Church, with Tim Brinkley officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Carter’s Mortuary Services of West Point is in charge of arrangements. 

Mrs. Bennett was born July 26, 1934, in Brooksville, to the late Arthur Joiner and Susie Joiner. She was formerly employed as a legal executive secretary. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. John W. Bennett Sr.; brothers, Philip Joiner, Arthur Joiner, Nathaniel Joiner, Maxie Joiner, Charlie Joiner and J.P. Joiner; and sisters, Rosetta Smart, Roberta Harris and Nellie Jordan. 

She is survived by her sons, Wendell J. Bennett, John Bennett Jr. and Lionel Bennett; daughter, Yolanda Bennett-Crawford; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 24 great-great-grandchildren.
