MACON — Moses William Vernon Jr., 74, died Oct. 7, 2025. 

Graveside services will be  at 10 a.m. Saturday, at Odd Fellows Cemetery. Cockrell Funeral Home of Macon is in charge of arrangements. 

Mr. Vernon was born March 7, 1951, in Louisville, to the late Moses William and Doris Higginbotham Vernon. He was a member of the Church of Christ. 

He is survived by his wife, Judy Vernon; daughters, Kristina Dee Bussanmas of Des Moines, Iowa, and Natalie Lee Dugan of Athens, Tennessee; son, William Dempsey Vernon of Oxford; sister, Evelyn Smith of West Point; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
