JACKSON — Dr. Monshale “Layy” Harris Pippins, 31, died July 27, 2025, in Jackson.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Charity Mission Full Gospel Baptist Church in Crawford, with Bobby L. McCarter Sr. officiating. No visitation will be held. Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus is in charge of arrangements.
Dr. Pippins was born Dec. 7, 1993, in Columbus, to Evan Caine and Pamela Smith Hayden. She was a 2012 graduate of West Lowndes High School, a 2016 graduate of East Mississippi Community College, a 2018 graduate of Mississippi University for Women, a 2022 graduate of the University of West Alabama, and a graduate of Capella University. She was formerly employed as a family interventionist specialist with Youth Villages in Ridgeland and was a member of Charity Mission Full Gospel Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Omni Pippins of Jackson; children, Omni Pippins Jr. and Leila Grace Pippins, both of Jackson; and siblings, Shanta Smith of Starkville, Lonzell Harris Jr. of Amory, Mia Harris of Caledonia, Antionque Smith of West Point, Antonio Caine of Ripley, Tennessee, Christopher Caine of Baltimore, Maryland, and Auretia Williams of Jackson.
