MCCALLA, Ala. — Molly Pennington Chandler, 83, died July 13, 2026, at her residence. 

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, at Otts Funeral Home, with Steven Sanderson officiating. Burial will follow at Wofford Cemetery. Otts Funeral Home of Sulligent, Alabama, is in charge of arrangements. 

Mrs. Chandler was born Dec. 17, 1942, in Vernon, Alabama, to the late Celbert Pennington and Jewell Carr Pennington. She was a graduate of the University of Alabama and was formerly employed as a nurse at Brookwood Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama. She was a member of The Station Church in Bessemer, Alabama. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Chander; daughter, Christy Williams; brothers, Wallace Pennington, Kenneth Pennington and Billy Pennington; and sister, Polly Hudson. 

She is survived by her daughter, Megan Horne of McCalla; brother, David Pennington of Millport, Alabama; sisters, Flora Hawkins, Dorothy Sue Strickland and Jean Thompson, all of Vernon, Alabama, Dean Fondran of Maben and Loretta Pennington of Columbus; and three grandchildren.
