COLUMBUS — Michael Sykes, 49, died Nov. 12, 2025, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle. 

Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, at New Beginnings Full Gospel Baptist Church, with the Rev. Stephen Sykes officiating. Visitation will be from 1-5 p.m. at Hairston and Hairston Funeral Home. Hairston and Hairston Funeral Home of Columbus is in charge of arrangements. 

Mr. Sykes was born Oct. 17, 1976, in Columbus, to Harvey Sykes and Doris Sykes. 

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his daughter, LaDaisha Hunter of Columbus; fiancé, Shaeronda Hammond of Una; sisters, Eureka Denise Sykes  and Meredith Leigh Sykes, both of Columbus; brothers, Stephen A. Sykes of Prairie, Greg A. Sykes and Timothy Sykes, both of Columbus; and one grandchild.
