CALEDONIA — Mary Jean Williams, 72, died March 6, 2026. 

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, at Military Chapel U.M. Church in Steens, with Antra Geeter officiating. Burial will follow at Sturdivant Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-5 p.m. Saturday, at Carter’s Funeral Services. Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus is in charge of arrangements. 

Mrs. Williams was born Sept. 2, 1953, in Lowndes County, Willie B. Williams and Lottie Mae Williams. She was formerly employed at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle and was a member of Military Chapel U.M. Church. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Curtis Gunter, Lewis Pratt and Otis Williams. 

She is survived by her son, Anthony Williams of Caledonia; siblings, Louise Wallace of Grand Rapid, Michigan, Willie Bob Williams of Pheba, Elizabeth Williams, Jessie Williams and Carolyn Pointer, all of Caledonia; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
