NOXUBEE COUNTY — Mary F. Tompkins, 69, died July 15, 2025, at Noxubee General Hospital.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, at Noxubee High School, with Ronald Murray officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Tabor M.B. Church Cemetery. Visitation is from 2-5 p.m. Friday at Carter’s Funeral Services. Carter’s Funeral Services of Macon is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Tompkins was born Oct. 25, 1955, in Noxubee County, to the late Phil Poe Sr. and Mary Poe. She was a member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Tompkins.

She is survived by her children, Tervell Tompkins, Derrick Tompkins and Merrick Tompkins, all of Macon; siblings, Gladys Jenkins and Fannie Mosley, both of Shuqualak, Lillian Poe Reeves and Elizabeth Washington, both of Detroit, Michigan, David Poe and Andrew Poe, both of Cleveland, Ohio, and Phil Poe Jr. of Davenport, Iowa; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
