DETROIT, Ala. — Mary Elaine Guin Ballard, 83, died Oct. 29, 2025. 

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Saturday, at Detroit Church of Christ. Burial followed at Friendship North Cemetery. Visitation was one hour prior to services at the church. Otts Funeral Home of Sulligent, Alabama, was in charge of arrangements. 

Mrs. Ballard was born Feb. 18, 1942, in Guin Alabama, to the late Lecil and Inez Guin.  She was formerly employed at the Detroit Garment Plant and as a registered nurse at North Mississippi Medical Center. She was a member of Detroit Church of Christ. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Cathy Ann Ballard; brothers, Dale Guin and Donald Guin; and sister, Ann Sizemore. 

She is survived by her husband, Andy Ballard; son, Bret Balard of Greenwood Springs; sister, Sandy Hopkins of Vernon, Alabama; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
