ETHELSVILLE, Ala. — Mary Alice Shaw Hudson, 80, died Nov. 1, 2023, at her residence. 

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, at Dowdle Funeral Home, with Mark Junkin officiating. Burial will follow at Springhill Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Dowdle Funeral Home of Millport, Alabama is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Hudson was born March 31, 1943, in Pickens County, Alabama, to the late Rufus and Vera Hall. She was a graduate of the University of Alabama. She was formerly employed by Ruth’s Department Store and Lamar County DHR. She owned Millport Diner and was a foster parent.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Jane Shaw Landry; and one great-grandson.

She is survived by her husband, David Lewis Hudson; children, Tina Duke of Vernon, Alabama, Sylvia Rhudy of Sulligent, Alabama, Roger Shaw of Millport, Alabama and Mitchell Hudson of Ethelsville, Alabama; sister, Geneva Bell; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Mitchell Hudson, Matt Duke, MJ Duke, Justin Hudson and Darrin Duke.
